In well insulated houses, you have to apply ventilation with heat recovery to have an acceptable
internal climate. Heating power requirements are then so low, that you can save a lot of money by not installing a
normal heating system and using heat from the sanitary water storage.
It is very simple to condition the air
entering from the heat recovery with help of the hot sanitary water and the air dsitributes the heat then. The
control system should be adapted for that (then it can also be instructed to cool the house at night in summer).
In the system we tested, air was led through a (finned) double wall of the boiler. But as any
reasonable hot water system has a pump in order to heat the stored water above legionella emperature, an external
heat exchanger is perhaps a less expensive option.
This may be very attractive from the financial point of view
and you can save space and wall area
